Innovative Arten der Unternehmensnachfolge
Die AGS, die Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Selbständigen und kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) in der SPD, zeichnet mit dem "AGS-Innovationspreis 2024" erneut innovative, erfolgreiche und sozial verantwortliche KMU oder Organisationen aus. Der Preis steht jedes Jahr unter einem anderen Motto.
2024 geht unser AGS-Preis an kleine Personen- oder Kapitalgesellschaften mit Hauptsitz in Deutschland oder Ländern der Europäischen Union, die einen innovativen Weg gefunden haben, ihr Unternehmen voll funktionsfähig an einen Nachfolger oder eine Nachfolgerin zu übergeben. Dazu gehören moderne Ansätze auf finanziellem, rechtlichem oder technischem Gebiet, zielgerichtete Weiterbildungsansätze vor der Übergabe, und vieles anderes mehr.
Hintergrund
In der ganzen westlichen Welt macht sich der demografische Knick bemerkbar: die geburtenstarken Jahrgänge gehen in den Ruhestand, darunter auch Unternehmer, Handwerker, Gewerbetreibende usw. Gleichzeitig gibt es weniger Menschen, die einen Betrieb mit allen Kosten und Risiken weiterführen wollen - weder aus der eigenen Familie noch dem Betrieb selbst oder Externe. Dieser Trend wird zu einem ernsten Problem für die Volkswirtschaften und demokratischen Gesellschaften des Westens, deren Rückgrat oftmals dieser Mittelstand ist. Mit unserem diesjährigen Preis wollen wir Ansätze ehren, die sich erfolgreich dieses Themas angenommen haben.
Mit der Verleihung des Preises will die AGS auch ein wirtschaftlich dynamisches, demokratisches und soziales Europa hervorheben, das den Menschen und seine Bedürfnisse in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Der Preis würdigt kleine und mittlere Unternehmen, die diese Bedürfnisse verantwortungsbewusst und in außergewöhnlicher Weise erfüllen.
Kriterien für den AGS-Innovationspreis
Bedingungen für die Teilnahme:
Teilnehmen können alle KMU laut EU-Definition mit Hauptsitz in einem Mitgliedsstaat.
Sie müssen dem AGS Bundesvorstand in Deutschland von einem AGS-Bezirks- oder Landesvorstand, international von einem Mitgliedsverband in SE4DS bis spätestens 15. Juni 2024 vorgeschlagen werden.
Kriterien für die Innovation:
Für die sorgfältige Auswahl der Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger ist es von größter Bedeutung, dass sie Kreativität in Bezug auf die Betriebsnachfolge gezeigt haben.
Weitere Kriterien, die nicht zwingend kumulativ im Zusammenhang mit dem aktuellen Motto des Preises stehen, sind:
- Unternehmerische Initiative
- Nachhaltige Arbeits- und Produktionsmethoden
- ökonomische Dauerhaftigkeit des Geschäftsmodells (tatsächlicher Markterfolg über einen gewissen Zeitraum),
- ökologische Nachhaltigkeit des Geschäftsmodells (Einhaltung von Umwelt- und Rechtsnormen sowie klare und sichtbare Anstrengungen zur Ressourceneinsparung in der betrieblichen Tätigkeit)
- soziale Nachhaltigkeit und Einhaltung der Forderungen nach guter Arbeit (Einhaltung gesetzlicher Arbeitsschutzstandards, Zahlung angemessener Löhne und Gehälter, Umsetzung innovativer flexibler Arbeitszeitmodelle, Schaffung von Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten, aktive Beteiligung der Mitarbeiter an betrieblichen Belangen, möglicherweise Beteiligung der Arbeitnehmenden am Kapital, u.a.).
Die Übergabe darf nicht dazu dienen, individuelle Freiheiten einzuschränken oder sonst wie Menschen zu schaden. (Ausschlusskriterium).
Der Preis wird von einer Jury der AGS vergeben, deren Entscheidung endgültig ist und nicht angefochten werden kann.
Organisatorisches
Am 27.September 2024 wird bereits zum sechsten Mal der AGS-Innovationspreis im Willy-Brandt-Haus in Berlin verliehen werden.
Nur die Gewinner werden bis spätestens 30. Juni informiert, damit sie genügend Zeit haben, ihre Buchungen für Reise und Unterkunft zu arrangieren.
Die Veranstaltung wird von politischen Entscheidungsträgern, Medienvertretern, Verbänden und Unternehmern begleitet. Die Gewinner erhalten eine Urkunde und eine dekorative Preisstatue.
Eingeladen sind sowohl die Voreigentümer als auch die Betriebsnachfolger.
Wir bitten um Verständnis, dass alle Kosten selbst getragen werden müssen.
Für den Fall, dass es im September wieder Reisebeschränkungen gibt, werden wir eine Preisverleihung per Videokonferenz organisieren. Technische Einzelheiten werden zu gegebener Zeit mitgeteilt.

Call for applications for the AGS Innovation Award 2024
Innovative types of company succession
AGS, the working group of the self-employed and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the German social-democratic party (SPD), is once again honouring innovative, successful and socially responsible SMEs or organisations with the "AGS Innovation Award 2024". The prize has a different theme each year.
In 2024, our AGS prize will be awarded to small partnerships or corporations headquartered in Germany or European Union countries that have found an innovative way to hand over their company to a successor in a fully operational state. This includes modern approaches in the financial, legal or technical fields, targeted training programmes before the handover, and much more.
Background
Throughout the western world, the demographic downturn is making itself felt: the baby boomers are retiring, including entrepreneurs, craftsmen, tradespeople, etc. At the same time, there are fewer people who can or want to run a business. And, there are fewer people who want to continue to run a business with all its costs and risks - neither from family, the business itself or external parties. This trend is becoming a serious problem for the economies and democratic societies of the West, whose backbone often is this middle class. With this year's prize, we want to honour approaches that have successfully tackled this issue.
By awarding the prize, the AGS also wants to emphasise an economically dynamic, democratic and social Europe that puts people and their needs at the centre. The award recognises small and medium-sized enterprises that meet these needs responsibly and in an exceptional manner.
Criteria for the AGS Innovation Award
Conditions for participation:
All SMEs according to the EU definition with headquarters in a member state can take part.
They must be proposed to the AGS Federal Board in Germany by an AGS district or state board, internationally by a member association in SE4DS, by 15 June 2024 at the latest.
Criteria for the innovation:
- It must be an innovative idea that has utilised modern approaches in the financial, legal or technical field, targeted further training approaches prior to the handover or other ways for the succession plan and handover.
- The company must continue to be successful on the market in 2024 after the handover by 31 December 2021 at the latest, and its continued existence must be ensured.
- For the careful selection of award winners, it is of the utmost importance that they have shown creativity with regard to business succession.
Other criteria which are not necessarily cumulative in relation to the current motto of the award, are
- Entrepreneurial initiative
- Sustainable working and production methods
- Economic sustainability of the business model (actual market success over a certain period of time),
- Ecological sustainability of the business model (compliance with environmental and legal standards as well as clear and visible efforts to save resources in business operations),
- Social sustainability and compliance with good labour standards (compliance with statutory occupational health and safety standards, payment of appropriate wages and salaries, implementation of innovative flexible working time models, creation of further training opportunities, active participation of employees in operational matters, possible participation of employees in company equity, etc.).
The handover must not serve to restrict individual freedoms or otherwise harm people (Exclusion criterion).
The prize is awarded by a jury of the AGS whose decision is final and cannot be contested.
Organisational details
On 27 September 2024, the AGS Innovation Award will be presented for the sixth time at the Willy Brandt House in Berlin.
Only the winners will be informed by 30 June at the latest so that they have enough time to arrange their travel and accommodation bookings.
The event will be attended by political decision-makers, media representatives, associations and entrepreneurs. The winners will receive a certificate and a decorative prize statue.
Both the previous owners and the successors to the business are invited.
We ask for your understanding that all costs must be borne by you.
In the event that there are travel restrictions again in September, we will organise an award ceremony via video conference. Technical details will be communicated in due course.
